At this location we had to demo an existing retaining wall and set of stairs that were deteriorating. We brought everything down to the ground, built it back up with loam and built a new retaining wall.
The first layer of blocks are always crucial. You have to make sure you have base gravel, stone and piping for drainage and make sure you are level. You can use many different tools to see if you are level.

Here A&J built a staircase in a retaining wall using Techo Bloc Retaining Wall Blocks. They make a very strong, solid retaining wall.
Using Mini Creta Techo Blocks we created a staircase and solid retaining wall.

This is an in progress picture of A&J installing a 6 foot solid white vinyl fence.
A&J Landscape Services also installs vinyl picket fencing. Here we installed a 4 foot vinyl picket fence in a back yard to help keep a dog and children safe in their backyard. They loved it and were so happy.
At our big commercial locations we plow, we keep bob cats and loaders on site for plowing.

At some of our commercial locations we have to haul the snow out using loaders and dump trucks. We usually charge hauling rates per hour per loader and per hour per dump truck.
At A&J Landscape Services we provide snow blowing, shoveling & ice melt applications on sidewalks and store entrance ways.
At A&J Landscape Services we lay out the design we drafted using our state of the art software. We take measurements and make sure everything is in the correct place for the plant to thrive before planting.

Here A&J donated labor, material and plants to make the South Hadley Police Station more inviting using the adopt an island program.
A&J donated plants, material and labor using our expertise to help improve the site at the South Hadley Police Station. Using the adopt an island program South Hadley can enjoy these flowers and islands for years to come.
A&J Landscape Services donated our time, plants and material to improve local areas. We did this at the town hall & police station.
A&J installed a smaller solid retaining wall for a residential customer.
Here we carefully placed mulch around tomato plants the customer didn't want disturbed. We also built a small retaining wall here.

A customer told A&J that they wanted to build up their backyard because they wanted a pool. Using many yards of loam and a machine we were able to do this for them.
Here is another picture of what the backyard looked like before A&J did their magic to give them a large sized yard with nice grass.
Here is a final picture after building up the backyard and A&J needed to put down straw to help the seed from washing away during spring & summer rain storms. It did the trick!
Here A&J built a large retaining wall using 2'x2'x4' retaining wall blocks to hold up and largen their backyard. They needed to build up their yard to install a pool and that is exactly what we did after a couple weeks and lots of loam, labor and blocks.
Here a customer brought an issue to A&J about every year they would put down mulch in this area and it would wash away into wet lands behind the landscape. A&J built a wood retaining wall and leveled it with loam and stone. Now this will not wash away.

Here A&J took a machine to wipe out the brush and bring it all down to ground level before building it up with loam, stone & flowers.
This is what the area will look like after A&J strips all the overgrown brush out and levels the loam.

In the end A&J will lay it all out and make sure that the plants are where they should be to grow and thrive. We add plant food in all of our plantings to promote healthy plant growth

Here A&J took a before picture of where we were going to install new stone, flowers and edging.
Using state of the art computer software A&J is able to provide their customers with visuals before they pay money for installations they are unsure that they will want.
Here A&J was finished and we took a picture of what our end result ended up being.
Here A&J is working hard to complete a large post & 2 rail cedar fence with a double wide gate and wire mesh to hold a dog and small children in.
Here A&J was able to create a custom fence to help a customer save some money, but to keep a natural and safe enclosure for a puppy & children.
Here A&J was in the middle of building the black chain link fence. We made sure it was level before proceeding.
Here A&J installed a black chain link fenced in area for a dog to play outside. He was the happiest dog in the neighborhood when we were done.
A&J had to strip all the brush before building the raised flower beds for the customer.
Here A&J built up a raised flower bed using fill & loam.
Using a machine, loam, stone and plants a customer told us she wanted raised flower beds. We were able to do just that for here and she was so happy.

We raised island flower beds to help provide privacy in the yard while creating a beautiful landscape.
A&J knows the importance of clearing snow out of commercial properties. We use loaders and dump trucks to keep our commercial properties clear of snow for the next storm to come.
This is a before picture of a damaged flat stone wall & staircase that we re-built from bottom up. We were able to re-use many of the original flat stones to save the customer money.

This is a completed picture of what the area looked like when we were finished. We used all original flat stones to re-build the damaged wall. We had to demo the area to take down the wall and overgrowth of weeds and added loam to lower portion of the back yard & leveled out the backyard. At the end we added seed & treatment for growth.
